AVIA W&S Motorsport back at the top of the championship standings after a turbulent Saturday
Nürburg, 17 August 2026 – Under bright sunshine and summer temperatures, the ADAC GT4 Germany round at the Nürburgring was a real rollercoaster for AVIA W&S Motorsport – but one that ended with a strong highlight on Sunday. A very special moment: the cycling squad of our long-standing partner AVIA, the AVIA Racing Team, came to visit and cheered the team on loudly. Fantastic support that visibly lifted the whole team – and was ultimately rewarded with strong results.
Thursday – Intensive Preparation
On Thursday the team completed three test sessions to prepare as well as possible for the weekend and to gather valuable kilometres.
Friday – Free Practice
In free practice the team showed decent pace. There was plenty of running, and all four cars kept up well, so the team went into qualifying day from a solid starting position.
Qualifying 1 – Saturday
In the first qualifying session the field was closely matched. Lachlan Robinson and Denny Berndt in the #31 were immediately on the pace and secured second in class and overall – a strong statement. Tim Horrell and Hendrik Still in the #32 took second in class and 17th overall. The AVIA Porsche #30 of Alon Gabbay and Maximilian Schreyer came home ninth in class and tenth overall. Frederic Zebis and Nicolas Guillaume in the #33 placed 13th in class and 14th overall.
Race 1 – Chaos at Turn 1 and a Strong Battle
The start was turbulent: an accident at the very first corner saw the #33 hit by another car and beached in the gravel – ending the race early for Zebis and Guillaume.
Robinson and Berndt in the #31 provided the real drama: for a long phase of the race they were involved in a spectacular fight that kept the spectators on the edge of their seats. In the end the pair crossed the line in second – a strong performance. Afterwards the stewards issued a controversial penalty that dropped the duo to sixth in class. A result that cost valuable championship points and hurt the team with a view to the overall standings.
The #32 was particularly strong: Horrell and Still drove an excellent race and secured the class win. The AVIA Porsche of Gabbay and Schreyer completed the picture with seventh in class and eighth overall.
Qualifying 2 – A Step Forward Across the Board
In the second qualifying session the #31 again confirmed its strong form with second in class and overall. Horrell and Still put the #32 on class pole and fifth overall. The AVIA Porsche #30 improved to fifth in class and seventh overall. Zebis and Guillaume rounded things off with tenth in class and twelfth overall.
Race 2 – The Championship Lead Is Back: Double Podium and Race Win on Sunday
What a Sunday! Robinson and Berndt delivered an outstanding race in the #31 and took the lead early. After the bitter disappointment of the previous day they made a clear statement, controlled the front of the field over the full distance and crossed the line first – a thoroughly deserved outright win and an impressive recapture of the championship lead!
Behind them the AVIA Porsche #30 also put in a strong performance: Gabbay and Schreyer completed the double podium with third overall – P1 and P3 for AVIA W&S Motorsport, a result the whole team celebrated. Horrell and Still in the #32 finished fourth in class, Zebis and Guillaume 13th in class and overall.

Voices from the Weekend
Hendrik Still (#32) gave a mixed assessment: “A difficult weekend overall. For Sunday we had a great qualifying result. We still need to work on the car a little – over one lap we’re very strong, but over the distance still too weak. The win on Saturday was mega all the same.”
Nicolas Guillaume (#33) looked back positively: “All in all it was a good weekend with clear progress in pace and confidence in the car. Even if we were still missing a little experience and luck in the races, we take away a lot of positives. Despite the contact at the start and the accident on Saturday, we continued to gather valuable experience.”
Denny Berndt (#31) was visibly satisfied: “What a weekend! Getting the time penalty on Saturday was of course frustrating, but on Sunday we were able to show what we can do.”
Team principal Daniel Schellhaas summed up: “A weekend full of emotions. The turbulent start on Saturday did not make it easy for us, but the response on Sunday with the win and the double podium was exactly what we wanted to see. A big thank you as well to our partner AVIA for the great support at the track – that clearly gave us a boost.”
