Sunday’s racing action brought more success for the team as Nico Gründel piloted car #30 to victory in the Pro-Am class. American driver Ismaeel Ellahi marked his GT4 racing debut with a clean and consistent performance, while young talent Maximilian Schreyer secured sixth place overall, adding valuable points to the team’s tally.

The Endurance race provided further excitement, with Maximilian Schreyer making a strong start in car #30. Despite showing promising pace, a late penalty relegated the Schreyer/Gabbay duo to sixth place overall. The partnership of Tim Horrell and Nico Gründel proved triumphant in the Pro-AM class, while the newly formed duo of Çitak and Ellahi impressed in their first driver change pit stop. The Turkish driver Çitak’s impressive pace in the latter stages of the race secured a top-10 finish for car #32.

Quotes from the Race Weekend:

Daniel SchellhaasTeam Principal of W&S Motorsport:

“It has been the first time that W&S Motorsport comes to Valencia, and I must say that the weather is beautiful. Overall, a good weekend, with Alon being in the podium, and the newcomers doing a nice job. They picked up the pace to the front, and at the end everyone in the team improved and that is why we are in Winter Series, to improve every day.”

Alon Gabbay#31 W&S Motorsport:

“We have had very hot conditions this weekend. In the endurance I tried to catch up with the leaders, but we did not manage to do that. But anyway, we were consistent this weekend and I am happy with the podium we achieved on Sunday.”

Maximilian Schreyer#31 W&S Motorsport:

“We were fighting a lot with the car and myself. It was the first week in dry conditions in all the sessions, but overall, we made some progress, specifically in the races.”

Tim Horrell#30 W&S Motorsport:

“We had pretty good starts this weekend. Valencia is a hard track to overtake but the safety cars helped us to catch up with the guys in front. It has been some tough racing with some competitors this weekend.”

Nico Gründel#30 W&S Motorsport:

“The car was very tricky the whole weekend, I don’t think we had the pace that we would liked to have had, but I did my best. At the end we found some pace and we learned a lot. To me it was tricky this weekend to learn the track due to the university commitments, but we learned from this experience and now we know how to do better in the next races.”

Kuzey Çitak#32 W&S Motorsport:

“I had good improvements since I have got in the car on Tuesday, especially on Race 1. On Sunday it could have been better, but we did a good job, and I am looking forward to the next races.”

Ismaeel Ellahi#32 W&S Motorsport:

“The Team has been brilliant during the whole weekend, it feels like a family despite just being here for 4 days. As I did not have any experience this weekend was a challenge, but we achieved what we wanted to.”

Looking Ahead: The GT4 Winter Series will make its next stop at Spain’s Motorland Aragón in Alcañiz, where W&S Motorsport aims to build on this weekend’s strong performances.
