W&S Motorsport continued its successful campaign in the Nürburgring Langstrecken-Serie. The team secured a class victory in Cup 3 and a second-place finish in the SP10 class during the third round of the season.

The Cup 3 class victory went to Joshua Bednarski, Kai Riemer, and Lorenz Stegmann in the Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 CS #962. “Despite some bad luck with Code 60s in qualifying, we managed to create a solid foundation starting from P4,” explains Stegmann. “Joshua delivered a consistent first stint. Strategic timing during the pit stop allowed us to take the lead, and we steadily extended our advantage. Even with an additional fuel stop, we maintained our position to secure the class win.”

In the SP10 class, Stephan Brodmerkel, Jürgen Vöhringer, and Hendrik Still claimed second place in the #164 Porsche. “Thanks to an extended stint by Hendrik, we temporarily held the lead,” reports Brodmerkel. “Although a necessary pit stop dropped us to second place, we successfully defended this position until the checkered flag. Looking ahead to the 24-hour race, this is a very satisfying result.”

Less fortunate was the sister car #165 of Moritz Oberheim, Philip Miemois, and Toby Goodman. After securing pole position and leading the SP10 class strongly, the team was forced to retire following an incident. “Philip had an excellent start and was leading the class,” says Goodman. “Unfortunately, we got caught up in an incident that caused significant damage. However, our pace and consistency in practice and qualifying, combined with our two wins in the first two rounds, make us optimistic for the second half of the season.”

The team’s additional Cup 3 entries also showed solid performances. The #982 Porsche of Christoph Krombach, Richard-Sven Karl Jodexnis, and René Höber finished ninth overall and fifth in the AM classification. “After setting a 9:04 in the Code 60-affected qualifying, I managed to improve to an 8:51 during the race,” Höber notes proudly. Jodexnis adds: “We were able to maintain strong pace against other amateur teams, despite heavy traffic.”

Oliver Kunz and Peter Siebert brought their #961 Porsche home in twelfth position overall in Cup 3 and eighth in the AM classification. “This weekend has been very instructive for us,” reflects Kunz. “The car was perfectly prepared, and we consistently improved our lap times. Bringing the car home undamaged and gaining valuable experience makes us thoroughly satisfied.”

The next two rounds of the ADAC Nürburgring Langstrecken-Serie will take place in two weeks’ time as part of the ADAC 24h Nürburgring Qualifiers.
