Two podium finishes for Tim Horrell and impressive performance by Lenny Kieffer

W&S Motorsport enjoyed a successful weekend at the Porsche Sports Cup Deutschland in Spa-Francorchamps. With 27 GT4 cars forming the biggest field of the season, Tim Horrell secured two podium finishes in the sprint races, while 16-year-old Lenny Kieffer caused a sensation with an impressive performance in his first race weekend.

Qualifying: Strong performance in the rain

Qualifying took place in difficult wet conditions and produced a major surprise. 16-year-old Lenny Kieffer qualified directly in second place in his first race weekend and first time driving in the rain. Tim Horrell secured seventh, Ismaeel Ellahi 13th and Kuzey Citak 24th.

Sprint Race 1: Podium for Horrell, strong debut for Kieffer

The first sprint race immediately delivered the weekend’s first highlight. Tim Horrell fought his way up to second place, securing the first podium finish. Lenny Kieffer confirmed his strong qualifying performance with fourth place in his very first car race.

Ismaeel Ellahi finished 11th, while Kuzey Citak completed the race in 20th.

Sprint Race 2: Another podium for Horrell

In the second sprint race, Tim Horrell again showed his strong form, securing his second podium of the weekend with third place. Ismaeel Ellahi gained positions and finished eighth.

Kuzey Citak finished 17th, while Lenny Kieffer unfortunately retired from the race.

Endurance Race: Strong pace despite setbacks

Sunday’s endurance race featured the pairings of Tim Horrell/Philipp Gogollok and Lenny Kieffer/Tom Kieffer. Tim Horrell and Philipp Gogollok delivered a strong performance to finish fifth, while Lenny Kieffer and Tom Kieffer achieved seventh place.

“In the endurance race we had really good pace from the start, but unfortunately we had no luck,” explained Philipp Gogollok. “Our pace was very strong from the beginning and we were among the fastest cars. I have to say I’m very satisfied with Tim. Tim was fast and consistent all weekend and could always fight for victory in the sprint races.”

Despite missing out on the podium, Gogollok remained positive: “It was a positive weekend, even though we couldn’t take home a trophy from the endurance race.”

Team principal draws positive conclusion

Team principal Patrick Wagner was satisfied with the weekend’s performance: “The weekend was very good in terms of pace. We consistently achieved good results and were constantly in the top 10. The whole team did excellent work.”

Wagner particularly highlighted the podium finishes: “Tim stood on the podium in both sprint races. That obviously makes us especially happy. And Philipp set the fastest times in the endurance race. We can certainly be satisfied with that.”

The weekend in Spa-Francorchamps once again demonstrated W&S Motorsport’s versatility and ability to successfully manage both experienced pilots and young talent.
