W&S Motorsport dominates 2025 season – All three titles secured at Shanghai finale

Moritz Berrenberg crowned an extraordinary season with the capture of all three championship titles at the China GT 2025 season finale in Shanghai. The German driver secured both the GTS Driver Championship and GTS AM Driver Championship, while W&S Motorsport claimed the Team Championship. With an impressive record of six overall victories from eight races and a 100 percent win rate in the AM class, the team demonstrated its international calibre.

Race 1: Strong comeback after early incident

The first race started behind the Safety Car in wet track conditions. Berrenberg utilised his strengths in challenging conditions and fought his way to the front despite an early incident. Right from the start, the German was able to overtake the first GT4 before Turn 1 and move up to P2. However, in the first lap he was attacked in Turn 14 by a competitor who drove into him, triggering numerous warning messages in the cockpit.
Despite the technical problems, Berrenberg remained undeterred and fought his way back to the front. By the end of the second lap he had worked his way up to P1 and was able to build a decisive advantage from there with consistent pace.

“Apart from the incident in lap 1, I’m really happy with how the race went – especially since we finally had a clean race without any FCY or Safety Car,” explained Berrenberg after his victory.

Race 2: AM class victory secures championship title

The second race began with a red flag already in the first lap, but after the restart Berrenberg initially built up a solid lead. However, a late Safety Car wiped out the hard-earned advantage. In the final lap, a GT3 car put the W&S driver in an unfavourable position, allowing his direct competitor to overtake.

Despite missing out on the overall victory, Berrenberg secured the crucial AM class win that brought him the final championship title. “It’s disappointing to miss out on the GT4 overall win, but I’m very happy to have taken the AM class victory. That result secured the final season championship title, which was our main goal,” said the newly-crowned champion.

Perfect season record: Dominance across all categories

The impressive numbers from the 2025 season speak volumes: six out of eight GTS overall victories plus two additional podium finishes, combined with a flawless record of six wins in six AM races, led to all three championship titles.

The foundation for this success story was laid by Berrenberg at the season opener in Shanghai, where he competed alongside Finn in a Pro-Am pairing and secured two GT4 overall victories. Based on this dominance, the German made a bold decision: from Round 2 onwards, he went solo in the AM category – a self-imposed challenge that would pay off.

“The 2025 China GT season went better than I could have ever imagined. Who would have thought that we could secure every title this year?” reflected Berrenberg on his extraordinary season.

Teamwork as the key to success

The triple champion particularly highlighted the performance of his team, which provided optimal conditions throughout the year. The collaboration between the Maxmore W&S Motorsport team in China and the remote support from Germany worked perfectly.
“Winning the Driver, AM, and Team Championships all in one season is a dream come true, and something I will never forget,” concluded Berrenberg on his successful China GT season.
