Porsche Sports Cup pilots receive opportunity on international stage

At the GT4 European Series season finale at Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya, Tim Horrell and Ismaeel Ellahi will compete as guest drivers for W&S Motorsport in the AM class. Both pilots contested the 2025 season in the Porsche Sports Cup Deutschland with the team and now receive the opportunity to prove themselves on the international stage.

For Tim Horrell and Ismaeel Ellahi, the Barcelona outing represents the highlight of an intensive season with W&S Motorsport. In the Porsche Sports Cup Deutschland, both gathered valuable experience and showed continuous performance improvements. The guest entry in one of Europe’s most prestigious GT4 series is the logical consequence of their development and an important step in their motorsport careers.

American driver Tim Horrell, who is paraplegic, controls his specially adapted Porsche 718 GT4 RS using hand controls. At Oschersleben, he already celebrated his first GT4 victory in Germany – a historic moment for W&S Motorsport. Now Barcelona marks the next milestone in his impressive career.

“Tim and Ismaeel have made tremendous progress this season. The Porsche Sports Cup Deutschland was the perfect platform to start in GT4 racing,” explains team principal Daniel Schellhaas. “It’s Tim’s dream to find his way into the GT4 European Series. After the first two Sports Cup events, we worked hard, Tim developed steadily and crowned this development with a victory in the Sports Cup. That’s why this guest entry in the GT4 European Series makes absolute sense as preparation for the 2026 season. I’ve been working with Tim for three seasons now and I’m really looking forward to what’s still to come. Barcelona is a fantastic circuit and the perfect environment to conclude the season on a high note. My thanks go to the SRO, DMSB and FIA, who made this possible in a professional and uncomplicated manner.”

Tim Horrell:
“After nearly 3 years of hard work and dedication I am reaching my goal of racing at the highest level of GT4 racing in the world. Super grateful for my team’s support! Could not have asked for a better team to guide me along the way. I’m ready for the challenge to start this next chapter in my racing career.”

Ismaeel Ellahi:
“I’m really excited for Barcelona, this is my first time racing in a really professional environment. I started simracing only a year and a half ago so this is really a dream come true. I was on my couch dreaming of GT4 Europe this time last year. I’m really grateful to Daniel and the whole W&S crew who’ve supported me and given me this opportunity. We’ve had a decent first year so hopefully we can end it out on a high in AM class. I’m excited to work with Tim and the whole W&S crew again and extremely proud to represent my sponsors and family on such a big stage.”

The GT4 European Series finale takes place this weekend at Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya.
