Four Podiums, Strong Team Performance and Valuable Points at the Season Opener at the Red Bull Ring
What a feeling to kick off the season: AVIA W&S Motorsport made a powerful statement at the first race weekend of the 2026 ADAC GT4 Germany at the Red Bull Ring in Spielberg. With four Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS CS and eight drivers, the team from Ofterdingen entered the season on one of the most beautiful racing circuits in Europe – collecting valuable kilometres, points and experience from the very first lap.
The ADAC GT4 Germany is one of the most attractive and fiercely contested GT4 series in the world. At the Red Bull Ring in Spielberg – a circuit renowned for its demanding layout and spectacular overtaking opportunities – therewas no margin for error at the season opener. With several drivers completing their first kilometres in the ADAC GT4 Germany, anticipation was running especially high heading into the weekend – and the results delivered.
Practice
The practice sessions went well across the board. All four cars completed a high number of laps and settled into their setups smoothly. For the newcomers to the series, the first contact with the circuit and car in race configurationwas an important step – one the entire line-up handled with confidence.
Qualifying
Qualifying turned into a true opening statement for AVIA W&S Motorsport. In Q1, three cars claimed class pole position: the #31 of Lachlan Robinson and Denny Berndt went fastest overall and took class pole. The #32 of Tim Horrell and Hendrik Still and the #33 of Frederic Zebis and Nicolas Guillaume also secured class pole positions in their respective categories. The #30 of Alon Gabbay and Maximilian Schreyer completed the impressive picture withthird overall. All four AVIA W&S Porsches placed inside the top 8 of the overall classification – an emphatic statement at the very start of the season.
Q2 confirmed the team’s strong pace: the #30 moved up to second overall, the #31 to third, the #32 claimed class pole once again and finished fifth overall, and the #33 also secured class pole and sixth overall. Once again, all fourcars placed inside the top 6 – an outstanding team effort before a single race lap had been completed.
Race 1
The first race developed into a gripping contest that AVIA W&S Motorsport shaped from the first lap to the last. The #31 of Robinson and Berndt pushed through the dense field from the outset, defended their position underpressure and executed a perfectly timed pit stop to consolidate second place overall.
The #30 of Gabbay and Schreyer was involved in a long and intense battle with a BMW – overtakes, counter-moves and wheel-to-wheel fights lap after lap. The duo held their nerve and brought the car home in third overall.
The #32 of Horrell and Still played it strategically. A clean driver change and a clever race strategy allowed the duo to work their way forward consistently, ultimately securing first place in the PRO/AM class and eighth overall – a valuable championship win.
For the #33, the first race came to an unfortunate early end: Frederic Zebis was forced to retire. He and Nicolas Guillaume had performed strongly up to that point, keeping the Porsche in a competitive position. Race 2 would go on to show exactly what the pairing is capable of.
Race 2
The second race delivered plenty of action from start to finish. The #31 of Robinson and Berndt made another strong start, held their ground in close battles and benefited from yet another flawless pit stop – the duo crossed the linein third overall and took home more valuable championship points.
The #30 of Gabbay and Schreyer had a harder time in the second race: following a contact, the car was unable to maintain its previous pace fully. Despite the difficult circumstances, the duo kept fighting and brought the Porsche home in fifth place – a testament to the team’s resilience.
Horrell and Still in the #32 delivered another convincing PRO/AM performance. The duo claimed the class victory once more and finished tenth overall.
Zebis and Guillaume in the #33 responded impressively after the retirement in Race 1. With clean, committed driving and a smart strategy, they fought their way to second in class and eleventh overall – a well-deserved reward for a determined race.
