An extraordinary weekend for Maxmore W&S Motorsport and Moritz Berrenberg (#927, Porsche GT4) at the third round of the China GT in Zhuhai. After the team was forced to remove and repair the gearbox overnight before qualifying, the entire crew rewarded themselves with pole position and a class victory.
Qualifying
The weekend began with a serious setback: a major gearbox issue was discovered during free practice, requiring a full removal of the unit. At one stage, it was genuinely uncertain whether the car would be ready in time for qualifying. The mechanics worked through the entire night without sleep – and delivered. Berrenberg secured overall GTS pole position in Q1, and P3 overall with P2 in the AM class in Q2.
Race 1 – Pushing to the Limit
The race proved to be the toughest outing of the season so far. Extreme temperatures pushed the driver, the tyres and the car to their thermal limits. Despite these conditions, Berrenberg fought consistently throughout and brought the Porsche home in P2 overall and P1 in the AM class.
Race 2 – Cancelled
The second race of the weekend could not take place due to adverse weather conditions and was cancelled by the organisers.

The race itself was the hardest I have ever driven – the heat inside the cockpit was extreme, and there were moments when I genuinely did not know whether the car or I would make it to the finish line. In the end, we did it together. This victory belongs to the entire Maxmore W&S Motorsport team.”
