Erfolgreicher Abschluss der GT4 Winter Series

Mit dem finalen Rennwochenende auf dem Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya endete für W&S Motorsport die diesjährige GT4 Winter Series. Insgesamt vier Fahrzeuge gingen für das Team in Barcelona an den Start und kämpften in unterschiedlichen Klassen um gute Ergebnisse.

Die #31 mit Maximilian Schreyer und Alon Gabay trat in der PRO-Wertung an, während sich die #30 mit Tim Horrell und Frederik Zebis in der PRO/AM-Wertung stellte. In der AM-Klasse gingen gleich zwei Fahrzeuge ins Rennen: die #88 mit Joachim Bölting sowie die #33 mit Alexander Danzer und Daniel Blicke.

Für W&S Motorsport stand bei der Teilnahme an der Winterserie jedoch nie der Meisterschaftskampf im Mittelpunkt. Die Rennen dienten vor allem dazu, über die Wintermonate hinweg im Rhythmus zu bleiben – sowohl für die Fahrer als auch für das Team. Umso schöner war es, dass sich am Ende dennoch ein großer Erfolg einstellte: Joachim Bölting gewann mit der #88 die Gesamtwertung der AM-Klasse der GT4 Winter Series.

Daniel Schellhaas, zeigte sich entsprechend zufrieden:
„Barcelona war für uns ein sehr guter Start ins Motorsportjahr. Mit vier Autos am Start zu stehen, war natürlich super. Die Fahrer haben sich durch die Sessions gut gearbeitet und über das gesamte Wochenende hinweg eine tolle Steigerung gezeigt. Die Winter Series hat für uns genau den Zweck erfüllt, den wir uns erhofft haben: Fahrer und Team bleiben im Rhythmus und wir können mit viel Elan in die Saison starten.“

Auch Maximilian Schreyer blickt positiv auf das Wochenende zurück:
„Barcelona war ein erfolgreicher Saisonauftakt. Mit Platz 3 in der Klasse im Sprint-Rennen und Platz 4 overall im Endurance konnten wir starke Ergebnisse einfahren, auf denen wir für den Rest der Saison aufbauen können. Vielen Dank an das Team, meine Sponsoren und meinen Teamkollegen Alon für die harte Arbeit und den vielversprechenden Saisonstart. Ich freue mich schon auf den Rest der Saison.“

Daniel Blicke nahm aus dem Wochenende ebenfalls wichtige Erkenntnisse mit:

„Der Gaststart in Barcelona war für mich eine Vorbereitung auf die GT4 European Series. Zusammen mit unserem Coach Marvin Dienst konnten wir viel analysieren und erarbeiten, um für den Saisonstart in Le Castellet gut vorbereitet zu sein. Trotz eines Zwischenfalls am Sonntag konnten wir uns zurückkämpfen und am Ende Platz 2 in der Klasse sichern – ein versöhnlicher Abschluss und wertvolle Learnings für die kommenden Aufgaben.“

Tim Horrell fügt hinzu:

“Ich konnte wertvolle Erfahrungen sammeln und lege meinen Fokus nun darauf, meine fahrerischen Fähigkeiten in der kommenden Saison gezielt weiterzuentwickeln. Mit der Unterstützung meines Teams bin ich zuversichtlich, in diesem Jahr große Fortschritte zu erzielen und erfolgreiche Ergebnisse einzufahren.”

Nach dem erfolgreichen Abschluss der GT4 Winter Series richtet sich der Fokus von W&S Motorsport nun vollständig auf die kommenden Herausforderungen in der GT4 European Series sowie der ADAC GT4 Germany, in denen das Team erneut mit mehreren Fahrzeugen an den Start gehen wird.

    Successful Finale of the GT4 Winter Series

    With the final race weekend at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya, W&S Motorsport brought this year’s GT4 Winter Series to a close. A total of four cars represented the team in Barcelona, fighting for strong results across different classes.

    Car #31, driven by Maximilian Schreyer and Alon Gabay, competed in the PRO category, while car #30 with Tim Horrell and Frederik Zebis took on the PRO/AM classification. Two entries lined up in the AM class: car #88 with Joachim Bölting and car #33 with Alexander Danzer and Daniel Blicke.

    For W&S Motorsport, the Winter Series was never primarily about chasing the championship. Instead, the races served to keep both drivers and team in rhythm throughout the winter months. That made the final outcome even more rewarding: Joachim Bölting secured the overall AM class title in the GT4 Winter Series with car #88.

    Daniel Schellhaas was pleased with the team’s performance:

    “Barcelona was a very good start to our motorsport year. Having four cars on the grid was, of course, great. The drivers worked their way through the sessions well and showed a strong improvement throughout the entire weekend. For us, the Winter Series fulfilled exactly the purpose we hoped for: the drivers and the team stay in rhythm, and we can head into the season with a lot of momentum.”

    Maximilian Schreyer also looked back on the weekend positively:

    “Barcelona was a successful season opener. P3 in class in the sprint race and P4 overall in the endurance race are strong results we can build on for the rest of the season. Many thanks to the team, my sponsors, and my teammate Alon for the hard work and the promising start to the season. I’m already looking forward to the rest of the year.”

    Daniel Blicke took valuable lessons from the weekend as well:

    “My guest start in Barcelona was preparation for the GT4 European Series. Together with our coach Marvin Dienst, we were able to analyse and work on a lot to be well prepared for the season opener in Le Castellet. Despite an incident on Sunday, we fought back and secured P2 in class in the end — a positive finish and valuable learnings for the challenges ahead.”

    Tim Horrell adds:

    “I’ve gained valuable experience and am now focusing on further developing my driving skills in a targeted manner for the upcoming season. With the support of my team, I’m confident that I’ll make significant progress this year and achieve successful results.”

    Following the successful conclusion of the GT4 Winter Series, W&S Motorsport is now fully focused on the upcoming challenges in the GT4 European Series and ADAC GT4 Germany, where the team will once again compete with multiple cars.

    Ein Wochenende mit wechselhaftem Wetter, viel Regen und starken Leistungen: W&S Motorsport hat in Aragón in allen drei Klassen überzeugt. Mit mehreren Siegen, Podien und einer klaren Leistungssteigerung im gesamten Team sammelte die Mannschaft wichtigeErkenntnisse und Momentum für das Winter-Finale. 

     

    Regen, Rhythmus und richtig gute Pace 

    Aragón zeigte sich über weite Strecken von seiner schwierigen Seite: Regen und anspruchsvolle Bedingungen verlangten Fahrern, Ingenieuren und Crew alles ab. Trotzdem war die Pace von W&S Motorsport von Beginn an stark – und das Team konnte die Performance in den entscheidenden Sessions und Rennen konstant auf die Strecke bringen. 

     

    Drei Rennen, drei Klassen: W&S Motorsport liefert ab 

    In den Rennen bestätigte W&S Motorsport die starke Form:

    • #30 Tim Horrell / Hendrik Still (PRO/AM) fuhr mehrfach ganz nach vorne und holte zwei Klassensiege. Auch in den weiterenLäufen stand das Duo konstant auf dem Podium.
    • #31 Nicolas Guillaume / Frederik Zebis (PRO) zeigten eine deutliche Steigerung über das gesamte Wochenende. Nach starken Auftritten und viel Lernkurve unter schwierigen Bedingungen fuhr das Duo zweimal auf Rang zwei in der Klasse.
    • #88 Joachim Bölting (AM) blieb in Aragón eine Bank: zwei Klassensiege und weitere starke Resultate unterstreichen die Konstanz – gerade bei Regenbedingungen.

    Teamchef Daniel Schellhaas zog ein positives Fazit: Neben den Podien und Siegen sei vor allem die Entwicklung im Team spürbargewesen. „Ein sehr tolles Wochenende“, so Schellhaas – und besonders erfreulich: „Eine super Steigerung von unseren zwei Junioren, von Nicolas und von Frederik.“ Nach den nassen Sessions war das Team zudem froh, „dass wir zumindest am Sonntag trockeneBedingungen“ hatten. 

     

    Stimmen zum Wochenende: 

    Tim Horrell (Fahrer, #30 PRO/AM): „Für mich war es ein großartiges Wochenende, während ich mich weiter auf die kommende Saison vorbereite. Ein großes Dankeschön an mein Team W&S, das mir die Voraussetzungen gegeben hat, um dieses Wochenende an der Spitze des Feldes mitkämpfen zu können. Ich freue mich darauf, die Wintersaison in Barcelona stark zu beenden.” 

     

    Ausblick: 

    Nach dem starken Auftritt in Aragón richtet W&S Motorsport den Fokus jetzt auf das Winter-Finale in Barcelona. Das Ziel ist klar: an die Performance anknüpfen, die Entwicklung weiter vorantreiben – und die Saison mit maximalen Ergebnissen abschließen.

    A weekend defined by changing weather, heavy rain and strong performances: W&S Motorsport delivered in Aragón across all three classes. With multiple wins, podium finishes and clear progress throughout the team, the squad gained valuable momentum heading into the Winter Series finale. 

     

    Rain, rhythm and strong pace 

    Aragón proved demanding for most of the weekend: rain and tricky conditions challenged drivers and crew alike. Even so, W&S Motorsport showed strong pace from the start and consistently converted performance into results when it mattered. 

     

    Three races, three classes: W&S Motorsport delivers 

    The team’s form translated into strong race results:

    • #30 Tim Horrell / Hendrik Still (PRO/AM) fought at the front and secured two class wins, adding further podium finishes across the remaining races.
    • #31 Nicolas Guillaume / Frederik Zebis (PRO) made a clear step forward over the course of the weekend. With a steep learning curve in difficult conditions, the duo finished P2 in class twice.
    • #88 Joachim Bölting (AM) once again proved highly consistent: two class wins and more strong results underlined the pace and composure—especially in the wet.

    Team Principal Daniel Schellhaas summed up the weekend positively: beyond the wins and podiums, the team’s development stood out. It was “a very great weekend,” Schellhaas said, highlighting “a great improvement from our two juniors, Nicolas and Frederik.” After the wet sessions, the team was also relieved that “we at least had dry conditions on Sunday.”

    Following the strong Aragón weekend, W&S Motorsport now turns its focus to the Barcelona Winter Series finale. The goal is clear: build on the performance, keep the development curve moving upward, and finish the season with maximum results.

    W&S Motorsport ist mit einem ereignisreichen und erfolgreichen Wochenende in die neue Saison der GT4 Winter Series gestartet. In Portimão zeigten beide Porsche Cayman GT4 starke Leistungen, trotz wechselhafter Bedingungen und einiger Herausforderungen.

    Qualifying: Doppel-Pole für die #30

    Bereits im Qualifying setzte das Team ein Ausrufezeichen: Tim Horrell und Frederik Zebis sicherten sich im #30 Porsche Cayman GT4 in beiden Sessions die Pole Position. Für Joachim Bölting im #32 Porsche bedeutete ein Getriebeschaden und der daraus resultierende Fahrzeugwechsel den letzten Startplatz für die Rennen.

    Rennen 1: Podiumskurs und starkes Comeback

    Im ersten Rennen war Tim Horrell im #30 Porsche lange auf Podiumskurs und kämpfte um Platz drei, bevor ihn vier Runden vor Schluss ein Aufhängungsschaden zur Aufgabe zwang. Joachim Bölting zeigte im #32 Porsche ein beeindruckendes Comeback und fuhr vom letzten Startplatz auf Gesamtrang 7 sowie zum Sieg in der Am-Klasse.

    Rennen 2: Reifenwahl verhindert bessere Platzierungen

    Das zweite Rennen war von einer unglücklichen Reifenwahl geprägt, wodurch für beide Fahrzeuge nicht mehr möglich war. Joachim Bölting erreichte im #32 Porsche Platz 9 gesamt und Rang 2 in der Am-Klasse. Tim Horrell und Zebis kamen im #30 Porsche auf Platz 12 gesamt und Platz 4 in der Pro-Am-Klasse ins Ziel.

    Rennen 3: Sieg nach packendem Finish

    Im dritten Lauf übernahm Tim Horrell im #30 Porsche Cayman GT4 von Beginn an die Führung und behauptete diese bis zum Boxenstopp. Nach dem Fahrerwechsel kam Zebis hinter dem Toyota zurück auf die Strecke, da die In- und Outlap beim Stopp zu langsam waren. Zebis blieb dran, setzte den Führenden permanent unter Druck und überholte in der vorletzten Runde auf Start-Ziel. Der Toyota hatte zu diesem Zeitpunkt einen Schaden an der Frontschürze und musste kampflos abreißen lassen. Horrell und Zebis feierten damit den Gesamtsieg und den Klassensieg in der Pro-Am. Joachim Bölting komplettierte das Wochenende im #32 Porsche mit Platz 7 gesamt und dem Sieg in der Am-Klasse.

    Teamchef Patrick Wagner zieht ein positives Fazit:
    „Das war ein intensiver und lehrreicher Saisonauftakt für unser gesamtes Team. Wir haben an diesem Wochenende viele verschiedene Bedingungen erlebt und konnten in allen Bereichen wertvolle Erkenntnisse sammeln. Besonders freut mich, wie das Team auf Rückschläge reagiert hat – ob nach technischem Defekt oder schwierigen Entscheidungen. Das Comeback von Joachim Bölting und der Sieg von Horrell/Zebis im dritten Rennen zeigen, dass wir als Mannschaft funktionieren. Darauf wollen wir in den nächsten Rennen aufbauen.“

    Mit diesem starken Auftakt blickt W&S Motorsport voller Zuversicht auf die kommenden Rennen der GT4 Winter Series.

    Strong season opener for W&S Motorsport at the GT4 Winter Series in Portimão

    W&S Motorsport kicked off the new GT4 Winter Series season with an eventful and successful weekend in Portimão. Both Porsche Cayman GT4s delivered strong performances despite changeable weather and various challenges.

    Qualifying: Double pole for the #30

    The team made a statement right from qualifying: Tim Horrell and Zebis secured pole position in both sessions in the #30 Porsche Cayman GT4. For Joachim Bölting in the #32 Porsche, a gearbox issue and the resulting car change meant starting all races from the back of the grid.

    Race 1: Podium pace and a strong comeback

    In the opening race, Tim Horrell in the #30 Porsche was on course for a podium and fighting for third place, but had to retire four laps before the end due to a suspension failure. Joachim Bölting, starting from the very back in the #32 Porsche, delivered an impressive comeback, finishing seventh overall and taking the win in the Am class.

    Race 2: Tyre choice limits results

    Race two was defined by an unfortunate tyre choice, which meant there was little more possible for either car. Joachim Bölting finished ninth overall and second in the Am class in the #32 Porsche. Tim Horrell and Zebis brought the #30 Porsche home in twelfth overall and fourth in the Pro-Am class.

    Race 3: Victory after a thrilling finish

    The third race turned into a real highlight. Tim Horrell led the #30 Porsche from the start and held the lead until the pit stop. After the driver change, Zebis rejoined behind the Toyota due to a slower in- and outlap. Zebis kept up the pressure throughout, finally making the decisive move on the penultimate lap on the main straight. The Toyota, suffering from front-end damage and a dragging splitter, was unable to defend and had to concede the position. Horrell and Zebis celebrated overall victory and the class win in Pro-Am. Joachim Bölting completed the weekend for the #32 Porsche with seventh overall and another win in the Am class.

    Team Principal Patrick Wagner sums up:
    “That was an intense and instructive season opener for the whole team. We experienced a wide range of conditions this weekend and were able to gain valuable insights in every area. I’m particularly pleased with how the team responded to setbacks – whether after technical issues or tough decisions. The comeback from Joachim Bölting and the win from Horrell/Zebis in the third race show that we function as a team. We want to build on this foundation in the coming races.”

    With this strong start, W&S Motorsport looks ahead with confidence to the next rounds of the GT4 Winter Series.

    W&S Motorsport takes on the 6h challenge at Portimão

    From February 5th to 8th, 2026, W&S Motorsport will compete in the 6-hour race of the GT4 Winter Series at Portimão. Sharing the cockpit of the Porsche GT4 will be Max Kronberg, Daniel Nillson, and Edvin Hellsten—three drivers who already impressed last season with strong performances and great team spirit.

    For Max Kronberg, this endurance race is the perfect opportunity to prepare for the tasks ahead together with the team: “I’m really looking forward to the 6h race at Portimão. For us, it’s the ideal chance to gain valuable experience and lay the foundation for a successful season.”

    Daniel Nillson will be taking part in his first-ever endurance event and is especially excited about the challenge: “Endurance racing is new territory for me. I’m very curious to see how teamwork and the dynamics play out over the full race distance, and I’m looking forward to lining up at Portimão together with Max and Edvin.”

    Edvin Hellsten also sees the race as an important step into the new season: “A new season is about to begin, and what better way to kick things off than with a 6-hour race? I’m excited to be back in the Porsche and racing at Portimão. Six times the distance, tyre wear, and sweat compared to our usual sprint races—this will be a great challenge with Daniel and Max. I’m also looking forward to experiencing the circuit and continuing my journey with W&S Motorsport.”

    Team Principal Daniel Schellhaas adds: “The 6h race at Portimão is the perfect opportunity for us to get together early in the year under competitive conditions and gain important insights for the upcoming season.”

    Vom 5. bis 8. Februar 2026 nimmt W&S Motorsport am 6-Stunden-Rennen der GT4 Winter Series in Portimão teil. Am Steuer des Porsche GT4 wechseln sich Max Kronberg, Daniel Nillson und Edvin Hellsten ab – drei Fahrer, die sich bereits in der vergangenen Saison mit starken Leistungen und Teamgeist präsentiert haben.

    Für Max Kronberg ist das Langstreckenrennen eine optimale Gelegenheit, sich gemeinsam mit dem Team auf die bevorstehenden Aufgaben vorzubereiten: „Ich freue mich riesig auf das 6h-Rennen in Portimão. Für uns ist das die perfekte Möglichkeit, wertvolle Erfahrungen zu sammeln und den Grundstein für eine erfolgreiche Saison zu legen.“

    Daniel Nillson steht vor seinem ersten Langstreckenrennen und sieht dem Einsatz mit großer Spannung entgegen: „Ein Langstreckenrennen ist Neuland für mich. Ich bin sehr gespannt, wie sich Teamwork und die Abläufe über die gesamte Renndistanz anfühlen werden und freue mich darauf, gemeinsam mit Max und Edvin in Portimão an den Start zu gehen.“

    Auch Edvin Hellsten sieht das Rennen als wichtigen Schritt zum Saisonstart: „Eine neue Saison beginnt und was gibt es Besseres, als mit einem 6-Stunden-Rennen loszulegen? Ich freue mich darauf, zurück im Porsche zu sein und in Portimão zu fahren. Sechsmal so viel Distanz, Reifenverschleiß und Schweiß als sonst – das wird eine spannende Herausforderung mit Daniel und Max. Außerdem bin ich neugierig auf die Strecke und freue mich darauf, mit W&S Motorsport weiterzumachen.“

    Teamchef Daniel Schellhaas betont: „Das 6h-Rennen in Portimão ist für uns die ideale Gelegenheit, früh im Jahr unter Wettbewerbsbedingungen zusammenzufinden und wichtige Erkenntnisse für die Saison zu gewinnen.“

    W&S Motorsport Announces First Drivers for GT4 Winter Series 2026

    Tim Horrell and Joachim Bölting to Race for W&S in Spain and Portugal – Additional Driver Seats Available

    Following the most successful season in team history with 15 championship titles across six international series, W&S Motorsport enters the GT4 Winter Series 2026 with clear ambitions. The team will field up to four Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS Clubsport cars in 2026 across the GT4 Winter Series, ADAC GT4 Germany, and GT4 European Series. Tim Horrell and Joachim Bölting have already been confirmed as two experienced pilots who will each drive a Porsche.

    Tim Horrell: Defending Champion Returns

    Tim Horrell is no stranger to the GT4 Winter Series. Together with Nico Gründel, the American secured the Pro-AM driver championship in the 2025 season, laying the foundation for W&S Motorsport’s successful year. Now Horrell returns to build on this success.

    “It will be my second season in the GT4 Winter Series. Last year helped me to learn the series, so this year I will be looking for more success in preparation of the 2026 season. Happy to also be back with my team W&S. With them, I’m looking to build off last year’s performance,” explains Horrell.

    Joachim Bölting: Focused Preparation as Solo Driver

    Joachim Bölting brings valuable experience from the GT4 European Series, where he secured the driver vice-championship in the Pro-AM class together with Hendrik Still in the 2025 season. The German pilot will compete in the GT4 Winter Series as a solo driver to prepare optimally for the upcoming GT4 European Series season.

    Perfect Preparation Under Southern Sun

    The GT4 Winter Series in Spain and Portugal (January to March 2026) offers ideal conditions for season preparation. With professional support from the experienced W&S Motorsport team, including the W&S Motorsport Academy, state-of-the-art data analysis and driver coaching, the pilots can prepare optimally for the challenges of the upcoming season.
