Maxmore W&S Motorsport and Moritz Berrenberg (#927, Porsche GT4) master round three of the China GT at Zhuhai

Ofterdingen, 27 July 2026 – An exceptional weekend for Maxmore W&S Motorsport and Moritz Berrenberg (#927, Porsche GT4) at the third round of the China GT in Zhuhai. After the team had to fix a gearbox failure in the night before qualifying, the entire crew rewarded itself with pole position and a class win – in extreme conditions that pushed driver, tyres and car alike to their limits.

Qualifying

The weekend began with a serious setback: during free practice a major gearbox problem was discovered that required a complete removal. Whether the team would be ready in time for qualifying was uncertain for a while. The mechanics worked through the entire night without sleep – and delivered. In Q1 Berrenberg secured the overall pole in the GTS class, and in Q2 third overall and second in the AM category.

Race 1 – At the Limit of What Is Possible

The race developed into the toughest outing of the season so far. Extreme temperatures pushed driver, tyres and car alike to their thermal limits. Under these circumstances Berrenberg fought consistently for positions and ultimately brought the Porsche home as P2 in the GTS overall classification and P1 in the AM class.

Race 2 – Cancelled

The second race of the weekend could not be held due to adverse weather conditions and was cancelled by the officials.

Moritz Berrenberg (#927): “This weekend showed that GT racing is always a team effort. The guys worked through the entire night to give me a car with which I could take pole. The race was the hardest I have ever driven – the heat in the cockpit was extreme, there were moments when I didn’t know whether the car or I would reach the finish line. In the end we made it together. This win belongs to the entire team.”
