W&S Motorsport Shines with a Strong Team Performance

Heat, bad luck and an accident with a lucky escape shape the race day

Nürburg, 21 June 2026 – The sixth round of the Nürburgring Endurance Series had a weekend full of emotion in store for W&S Motorsport. Above all, the #962 CMS Porsche celebrated a deserved class victory – a result that reflects the strong performance of the entire team.

Friday – First Runs in Sunshine

In brilliant sunshine and summery temperatures, the teams went into their first runs. The Grand Prix circuit was used in the morning, before the training sessions on the full track followed in the afternoon as usual.

Qualifying – A Solid Starting Position for All Cars

Qualifying went promisingly for all four cars. The strongest showing came from #962 (CMS), which secured P1 in its class (P33 overall) – a strong statement ahead of the race. #982 (CK-Modelcars) also impressed with P4 in the AM classification (P52 overall). #164 (Das Massivhaus) took P4 in class (P41 overall), while #961 (Häberle) started P5 in class (P38 overall).

Saturday – A Battle in Extreme Heat

The 4-hour race turned into a genuine test of endurance for both man and machine in the extreme heat. The day brought moments of celebration – but also bitter ones.

#962 – CMS Porsche | P1 class / P22 overall: The big success of the day belonged to Lorenz Stegmann and Moritz Oberheim. Starting from pole position, the duo initially dropped back a little – but they stayed calm and ran their own pace consistently and faultlessly. Over the course of the race they worked their way back to the front and found themselves at the top of the class again. In the end: a class victory and P22 overall – a strong performance under the most difficult conditions. With three poles in three NLS rounds, the #962 team underlines its quality impressively.

#982 – CK-Modelcars Porsche | P4 class / P36 overall: Christoph Krombach, Oliver Kunz and Lion Düker delivered a faultless race. During the pit stop, the hose of the pneumatic jack burst – the team kept its cool and improvised old school with the classic trolley jack. In the end P4 overall – deservedly fought for. By consistently scoring points and with the retirement of the previous championship leader, #982 jumps from P6 to P1 in the AM championship – the lead has been taken.

#961 – Häberle Porsche | DNF: For Marius Rauer, Michal Makeš and Toby Goodman the race ran unluckily. After light contact with a rival, Michal Makeš had to park the car – ending the race. Everyone involved is fine.

#164 – Das Massivhaus Porsche | DNF: Jürgen Vöhringer was involved in an accident after being overlooked by another driver and hitting the barriers hard. He had to retire early; he is doing well.

Voices on the Race

Toby Goodman (#961 – Häberle): “An unlucky race weekend. Qualifying didn’t go as planned, and then the impact – we didn’t make it to the finish. But that’s part of motorsport. We had the pace, and we’ll build on that at NLS 7.”

Michal Makeš (#961 – Häberle): “The start was good, but I was unfortunately pushed out while overtaking. That was a real shame – also for the whole team. We’ll come back stronger.”

Lorenz Stegmann & Moritz Oberheim (#962 – CMS): “The race was great for us. At times it looked difficult, but in the end we managed it. All the cars were really fast today – but we stayed faultless. The points come at exactly the right time in the championship.”

Christoph Krombach (#982 – CK-Modelcars): “A big heat battle at the Nürburgring. P4 in the end in the AM class, and so we collected important points. Now we’re the championship leader – that makes me incredibly happy.”

Axel Randolph – Team Manager: “A weekend with everything that makes up motorsport. A class victory that shows what our guys are capable of – and at the same time moments that take your breath away. We’re glad that all drivers are safe and well. My greatest respect goes to the team for the clean work under these extreme conditions.”

Andreas Göbel – CMS: “After the class win at the 24h race, now right at the top here again – the guys are simply incredible. Race after race they deliver. I’m really happy about our partnership and look forward to coming to the Ring every single time.”
