AVIA W&S Motorsport concluded the season in the Nürburgring Langstrecken-Serie (NLS) with a class victory in the Cup2 class of the Porsche Endurance Trophy Nürburgring (PETN), a pole position and a lap record. Daniel Blickle, Tim Scheerbarth and David Jahn in the AVIA racing Porsche 992 GT3 Cup #120 took their second class win in the last 4-hour race of the year and had already caused a sensation in qualifying. Jahn, who celebrated his 34th birthday on Saturday, set the lap record for a Cup2 car on the Nürburgring Nordschleife in qualifying with a lap time of 8:04.668 minutes and presented himself and his team with pole position.

Starting driver Tim Scheerbarth was able to defend his top position and moved up to fifth overall. Daniel Blickle then took the wheel and also had good pace. In the final phase, David Jahn fought for victory in the fiercely contested Cup2 class and brought home his second win of the season and fifth place in the overall standings in a thrilling finish. In the Cup2 class, Blickle/Scheerbarth/Jahn finished runners-up in the drivers‘ and teams’ championships and ninth in the overall NLS standings.

The Cup3 champions Moritz Oberheim, Joshua Bednarski and Lucas Daugaard in the CMS Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS #962 also wanted to win the overall NLS championship and laid a good foundation for further success with second place on the grid in qualifying. Unfortunately, they retired after around two and a half hours of racing due to a technical defect. With five wins and a second place in the PETN Cup3 class, they can nevertheless be satisfied with their season and the early title win in the Cup3 driver and team championship. The trio also finished runners-up in the overall NLS standings.

Patrick Wagner, Team Principal W&S Motorsport: “It was exciting right to the end and we are delighted with the victory in Cup2. The #120 was incredibly strong on the track and even set a lap record. Unfortunately, the #962 retired due to a technical defect and was no longer able to intervene in the battle for the overall NLS championship. Moritz, Joshua and Lucas can nevertheless be very satisfied with their performance this year. They are Cup3 champions and NLS runners-up and have won five out of eight races, which is very impressive. Many thanks to the team for their professional work and commitment throughout the year. We are already looking forward to the races in the new season and will attack again to make it to the overall championship in 2025!”

Daniel Blickle, Driver #120: “Despite the low temperatures, the track was very fast and the Cup2 class was again super hard-fought and exciting right to the end. With a wafer-thin lead after a thrilling finale, I am super happy that we were able to finish the season with another class win. The package was perfect again this time, the team and drivers did a great job. Especially David, who set the lap record in Cup2 in qualifying and had to really fight again in the race at the end. We now finish the season as runners-up in the Cup2 team and driver standings. Unfortunately, we lacked the consistency to win the title this season in the face of extremely strong competition. Nevertheless, I am also happy about the runner-up title, especially after I took a break in the 2023 season. We had a lot of fun together in the team again throughout the season and I would like to thank everyone for the commitment and passion they put in. My heartfelt thanks also go to my fellow drivers David and Tim. We complement each other perfectly and can therefore always celebrate great successes together. Now I wish everyone a relaxing winter break and I am really looking forward to attacking again next year with W&S Motorsport!“

David Jahn, Driver #120: “Qualifying was mega with the lap record. It was a lot of fun and the conditions were great. The fact that it was dry and cool meant we could really step on the gas. The race was very exciting at the end. I wanted to close the gap to the front, but I also came under pressure from behind. But I was able to pull out a good position and put up a good defence. The win was important once again, as we were always close throughout the year. All in all, it was a great season, but with some small mistakes that we should avoid in the future, then we will be able to clinch the overall championship. It would be great if we could try again next year. The season was a lot of fun and the team is like a family, but at the same time very professional. That’s why it is always great to be on the road with W&S Motorsport. I am happy with the season and hope that we can continue like this next year!“

Joshua Bednarski Driver, #962: “First of all, I would like to thank all my partners and the W&S Motorsport team for this incredible season, which was my first at the Nürburgring and in motorsport. We unfortunately ended the season with a technical failure when we were leading in Cup3 and the overall NLS standings, which is very frustrating. Nevertheless, I am very happy with how the season went and I really enjoyed sharing the car with Lucas and Moritz. Now it is time to recover and prepare for 2025.“

Lucas Daugaard, Driver #962: “When I look back on this season, it has been a dream come true to work with the W&S Motorsport team and drive such an incredible car on my absolute favourite track. From the start of the season I knew I was going to a very experienced team, but I had no idea how dedicated and professional the team really is! It was also a great experience to work with Moritz and Joshua. There is no doubt that they are very talented drivers and we have learnt so much from each other, both on and off the track. I hope that the relationships we have built over the year will continue in the future.”
