AVIA W&S Motorsport Shines at the Norisring – Double Victory and Triple Pole

Two Race Victories, Strong Team Performance and Valuable Points at the Second Round of the Season

What a weekend. AVIA W&S Motorsport made a powerful statement at the second round of the ADAC GT4 Germany at the Norisring. Double pole in the first race, triple pole in the second, multiple race victories and a team performance that sent an important signal after the previous weeks: AVIA W&S Motorsport is right at the front – and how.

Free Practice

The strong form was evident from free practice. In the first session, the #30 of Alon Gabbay and Maximilian Schreyer placed third in class and third overall, the #31 of Lachlan Robinson and Denny Berndt second in class and second overall. The #32 of Tim Horrell and Hendrik Still finished second in class and eleventh overall, while the #33 of Frederic Zebis and Nicolas Guillaume placed 15th in class and 17th overall.

The team improved further in the second session: the #30 moved up to second in class and second overall, while the #32 took the class lead and finished sixth overall. The #31 placed tenth in class and twelfth overall, the #33 13th in class and 15th overall.

Qualifying – Triple Pole for AVIA W&S Motorsport

Qualifying turned into a genuine highlight of the weekend. In Q1, the #31 of Robinson and Berndt claimed overall pole and first in class. The #30 of Gabbay and Schreyer followed in second place in class and overall. The #32 took second in class and 17th overall, while the #33 placed 11th in class and 12th overall.

In Q2, the #30 of Gabbay and Schreyer turned the tables and secured overall pole and first in class. The #31 followed in second place in class and overall, the #32 claimed the class lead once again and finished third overall, and the #33 placed 12th in class and 14th overall. With three AVIA W&S Porsches lining up first, second and third overall, the triple pole filled the entire team with pride – and showed, after a challenging few weeks, that the team is very much capable of running at the front of this series.

Race 1 – Joy and Heartbreak

The first race was a weekend in miniature – elation and disappointment in equal measure.

The absolute highlight came from the #31 of Robinson and Berndt and the #30 of Gabbay and Schreyer: Robinson and Berndt took first overall and first in class, with Gabbay and Schreyer following in second place overall and in class. A double triumph that thrilled the entire team.

Yet Race 1 also brought bitter moments. When Tim Horrell came in for the mandatory driver change, a tyre blister was discovered on the #32 – the tyre had deformed through overheating without fully failing. The tyre was changed quickly, but after just one lap Hendrik Still was forced back into the pits – a brake problem ended the duo’s race. The #33 of Zebis and Guillaume also suffered bad luck: the car was spun in the final lap and suffered a puncture as a result, bringing their race to an early end.

Race 2 – Dominance from the Triple Pole

Starting from the triple pole, AVIA W&S Motorsport put on an impressive display on Sunday. The cooler temperatures also worked in the team’s favour. The #30 of Gabbay and Schreyer took first overall and first in class – another race victory. The #31 of Robinson and Berndt followed in second place in class and overall. The #32 of Horrell and Still bounced back from their Race 1 retirement to claim first place in the PRO/AM category and an excellent first overall in their class. For the #33 of Zebis and Guillaume, the weekend ended early once again: contact forced the duo to retire prematurely.

Alon Gabbay (#30) was beaming: “What a fantastic weekend – P1 and P2, and then winning the Junior championship on top of that. Wow. Thank you to AVIA W&S Motorsport!”
